GUYS WHY IS PTT ELEVATED IN VON WILLEBRAND DISEASE....it should be normal right...cause PTT has nothing to do with platelets....help me out!

VW factor also contributes to fibrin clot formation by acting as a carrier protein for factor VIII, which has a greatly shortened half-life and abnormally low concentration unless it is bound to VWF . Therefore, PPT will be prolonged in VW disease.
