Ischemic colitis usually occurs in the setting of hypotension, vasculitis and atherosclerotic disease.Pts usually with abdopain,fever and vomiting. Bleeding occurs due to ischemia watershed areas more often splenic flexture

Mesenteric ischemia causes thrombosis or embolism regardless of cause symptoms of abdopain out of proportions to PE, also nausea/vomiting and bloody diarrhea due to mucosal sloughing.Pts have numerous atherosclerotic risk factors
