Hi Guys,
I have already taken step I and CSA.
I have got good interviews. They do not care whether I have passed step II or not, since all of their applicants are american and their deadline is before starting the residency.
Since my Qbank score is low (59%) out of 500 tests, I want to take the exam as late as possible.
However I know that for the match, I should be ECFMG certified by Feb 25.
Can you please let me know:
1) when is the latest time to take step II to be certified ontime?
2) Are the ECFMG certification and Step II sent simultaneously?
Any comments are appreciated.

can you please tell me what was your score for step 1 and are you american graduate or not ?
it is strange that they don't care about step 2 ...what about step 3 ???
i mean..we all have to do everything with excellent LOR and even green card and ... no intreviews//
but about your question, i think you need to ask them first and then you might want to take your exam within Feb. 2004,early next month...
at lease to be eligible for postmatch as well...

Yes, I am IMG and I have green card ... I Got 212 for step I, but i guess since I have been working as a researcher at Univerisity for a long time, I might be considered like american graduates.

tom ,, i havent scored well on step 1 it was 78 ,,
ur post appear to say , tht in step 1 it is important to have good score and one needs to do well in step 1 ,if he expects call as a IMG.
wont i improve my chances if i hav good step 2 score .
true tht u were involved in research work ,,
can the good score in 2 improve ones chance to be considered for a call.
can u tak some time and mail me the kind of research u were into ,,at pyaraanubhav
