Elective: rotation you choose... in a lot of programs the electives can be done in different hospitals, some even in other countries. The electives can be in a wide variety of things... usually the later in residency the more time you have for electives. You should do your elective rotations in something related to what your interest is after residency.

Faculty X Attending: faculty members are the professors... they are there to teach you and they are part of the program. Attending physicians are just regular doctors... some of them like to teach and some don't, but their job is to see patients, not to teach you; attendings are employees of the hospital.
