I just read your message regarding urgent advise and feel the exact same way, since the same thing happened to me cs. I thought pretest was tough enough, and all I needed. Apparently not. You know, until, I read your message, I was going to do the other nbme's. But now, I think different. I think, it's about what I know, not what I don't. I am scheduled for the 10th, moved from the 6th. I don't know if I need more time. There are always spots available, but they don't matter if you don't pass. It's still a lot of time for review. The Scramble starts on the 14th, you have a bit more time to postpone you know, don't know why u don't? A lot of this test has to do with confidence.
I went into step 1 confident, when I couldn't study anymore. When I left, my sister asked me how did I do? My answer, "I don't know." It was the truth. 4 weeks later to the day I got my results and passed!
I don't know if NBME is good for confidence. I think solidifying what you know, memorizing any shady subject areas quickly, and go over everything once for now is the answer and rely on rote memorization and quick recall. This is all a bit personal, if you want to talk more, you may email me at futuresx21 if you want. Otherwise good luck and study quick and efficient. But I know this test has no mercy or forgiveness, so know your stuff. If you are not there yet, forget it cs, 1 extra week can mean becoming a doc 1 whole year earlier.
