is it true that once u take J1 visa it is very difficult to go back to home country because of fear of not being allowed to come back during residency or fellowship?. i am scared now as i have many J1 programs in my ROL. please help.

the fear is because of the fact that J1 IS ONLY FOR ONE YEAR and if you go back to home country after first year , you have to again apply for it, for those countries where getting visa is difficult , then you may put uurself at risk ,,,but for every problem there is a solution ,,,,,after one year take visit visa of canada and apply for your second year visa......and do it again for third year.

hey mlee, so effectively are you saying that j1 is not a multiple entry?? and you will have to get it stamped each time you reenter the US from India (or any home country).
