i heard some stories about residents who been kicked out of the program .

program looks for dependable, consistant performance in intern.... if you are not meeting their standards, get ready to pack your bags to move to next program for next year..

I know one guy... he was in community hospital doing PGY1 in internal medicine... due to some contacts he managed to enter into university hospital from PGY2.... that university program (In NJ) observed his performance for 6 mths as he was recently moved... he was not meeting the standards set by that program for residents... so he was instructed to do 6 mths more as pgy2 (to do 3rd semester again rather than moving to 4th semester)... even after that 6 mths, as he is not acclamatized with the university hospital, now the program has shown him exit doors........ so now, he will be starting his PGY2 from this july rather than completing his residency by this time.........
