neurology residency after psychiatry? - shw

I could be wrong, but I believe neurology and psychiatry share the same boards, so if you complete a psych residency and pass boards, you will be certified in both psych and neuro. That said, it may be difficult to get a job as a neurologist with a psych residency.

but it might not be possible to do a fellowships after psychiatry residency which we could do after neuro residency. Is it possible?
like we cant do neuropsychiatry fellowship after psychiatry residency. isnt it?

Off course you can do fellowship after a psychiatry residency: addiction, child psychiatry ...

You can totally do a 1-2 year fellowship in Neuropsychiatry after doing a general adult psychiatry residency

I thought neuropsychiatry is taken up by ppl who have done neurology residency only.

You could do it after Neurology too. But having Psychiatry background is very helpful too.
