I am aware many of my colleagues have done fellowship in pulmonary and critical care post respiratory training in ireland and have atleast one publication. in the last few days there is a rumour that fellowship without residency is not possible is this true?

Are you asking about doing fellowship without a residency in Ireland or the US? I believe in the US, there are some fellowships you can get without a residency, but would not be able to get a medical license without a residency, even if you do a fellowship.

"I am aware many of my colleagues have done fellowship in pulmonary and critical care " : why dont u ask them?

'last few days'...really? i am not aware of any major changes in whole matching game for last couple of yrs....whts new for last few days?

'there is a rumour "u with an unknwn id r asking q on a public forum...try to use wht u can, the rest....who knws....ppl are tryin to help and contribute....wht has been ur part?! or do u think i myself can believe MANY get fellowships without resident?

ur best is to ask ur MANY colleagues for the most accurate info ...not rumors.

this is not a rumor...if u have been practicing overseas as a well known specialist with outstanding lors to proof....and make good contact in US...someone in a rural area might give u a chance in a non accredited fellowship. dats not easy and not MANY can get it. still, its competetive and needs u to do lots of free slavery as a specialist somewhre in US under a US doc to apply for it. gl
