Richmond medical center , Staten Island,NY .( For internal medicine).

Hello,
I am relatively new to this forum but felt compelled to respond to your post. I interviewed at St. Micheal and my interview day was really bizarre. We got some 'accidental' information from the resident giving us the tour. For one, they are losing their 'affiliation' with Seton Hall university and are currently unsure of where their program is going. This came through a slip of the tongue from the resident, who was explaining why they didn't have EMR yet (basically because they are losing their funding through seton hall). He was terribly uncomfortable after that.
In his morning address to the interviewees, the PD also said that 'there is no place for burning out among physicians, not good physicians anyway'. If that's the tone he's setting for his program, I would think twice before ranking it.
I also found the hospital poorly-maintained and was thoroughly disappointed by the lack of interest the residents showed for their morning report. Overall, I am ranking it at the bottom.
