regarding thyroid tests in starvation - mdkhayat
#11
@Rose,
Type I deiodinase primarily: Kidney, liver and thyroid
Type II : Brain, pituitary, brown fat & thyroid gland
Type III: INactivate T3 & T4 and play big part reverseT3/rT3 ( hemangiomas express this type in infant with hypothyroidism)

T4 -> deiodinase 1 OR 2 -> T3
T4 -> deiodinase 3 more than 2 -> rT3

I need to go now, we can continue later.
Happy study.

@Rose166

In starvation,
On 1st Q the all of the above *m* correct the factor that inhibit “type I” 5’ deiodinase in T4-> T3 peripheral tissue.
Target tissue 5′ iodinase key role. In Starvation blockage of 5′ iodinase (i.e. skeletal muscle -> ↓ O2 consumption & during periods of caloric deprivation. ( like all exception, brain 5′ iodinase differs for almighty kindness is not blocked in starvation to keep T3 protected)

Q2) INC correct.
