Help needed with finding a research assistant job - usmleexams10

Can anybody please share some advice on how to find and obtain a research assistant position, especially in Canada? So far I applied to a number of positions but I did not yet get any calls or responses from the employers. I'm not sure if there's something I'm doing wrong. Any help is much appreciated.

I know that this forum is about the match but I'm sure there are some people out there who worked as research assistants. Can any of you guys please offer some tips?

@usmleexams10: Your best bet would be to use a contact who can introduce you to the PI. Finding research is difficult unless you have a genuine interest. Everyone knows that IMGs tend to leave the research as soon as the publications are out and they have found a residency spot so PI's are generally a bit reluctant in hiring IMGs as RA. This is my suggestion to you based on the facts in US, I have no clue about how to land a RA job in Canada.
