I need guidance as to how to apply for Post-Graduation/PhD in basic medical sciences subject such as in cell biology or neurosciences. My present qualifications include graduation in medicine (MBBS) from home country followed by MD certification via ECFMG/USMLE. I am a foreign-IMG, so require a visa as well. For those who reply, I request you to please include some information about the following as well:
1. What are the general requirements for an application. Do I need to fulfill certain additional criteria such as GRE, etc.?
2. What is a “research statement”?
3. Who is responsible for obtaining funding for the research work that be part of this Post-Graduation/PhD (i.e., principal investigator or applicant, etc.)?
4. Are there fees for the course or is there usually a stipend for the student for his research work?
Thank you
