Next step of managing a home based 70 yrs pt with terminal metastatic breast cancer who is unresponsive to voice and has not consumed anything including liquids for a few days? Her son who is living with her at home disagrees with her living request that she be allowed to die in peace and would consider further therapy such as chemotherapy, antibiotics, hospitalization and enteral or parenteral nutrition to maintain her life.
1. Admit her to hosp.
2. No further intervention
3. Start enteral feedings
4. Abide by the decisions of the next of kin
5. Allow additional tx by obtaining a court order
