aida is right here/ b hcg increases in uterine pregnancy every day/ it should double at every 24 hour/
but in ectopic it does not --it increases slowly. so that this point can help us to guess that it can be ectopic but trans vaginal usg can be done when --b hcg is 200o? --not sure here---it will be able to show fetus in uterus even at this low level but for trans abdominal usg to be senstive for showing fetus in uterus we have to wait till hcg level rises to 5000 -6000 hcg progesterone level is another way and proof of pregnancy--it rises in ectopic but not that much as in uterine pregncy . but it is not a sensitive measurement--we can just guess; but can not rely upon it.

b-hCG of >1500 corresponds to a gestation of 4-5 wks, and hence will show up in vaginal sono but not in and sono
