65 year old with stable angina and have bacterial meningitis what emperic Rx you will start ?give organism also you are covering??

i think no vancomycin...........only.......CEFOTAXIME/CEFTRIAXONE + AMPICILLIN.......(for streptococci pneu., listeria

ceftrione +vancomycin and ampicillin.

ampicillin you add when suspect listeria.

listeria common in .elderly,immunocompromised,heart dz.infant,DM etc.

in this case cover(gram +ve,-ve and listeria)
