Combined Fellowships? - drpilot

Hi everyone,

I was having a discussion with a friend and I just wanted to clarify.
Please is it possible to do a combined fellowship- for example Cardio and Endo? Or does one have to do them both separately?

Secondly how bad will a 3 year gap (J1 issues) be for a fellowship application?

no combined fellowships.you will have to do them independently.

some programs will allow you to do 2 years of endocrine or ID plus one year of critical care.
Some cards fellowships will allow u to do 4 years.....and u will be board certified in Cards and critical care.
The bottom line is that it is mainly because of critical care. After most fellowships, u can do only one year of critical care.
straight out of residency u have to do 2 years of critical care or 3 years of pulm critical care
