J2 health insurance options - drpilot

Hi everyone,

So I am looking at insurance options for my child and spouse and it looks like its going to cost me about $500 per month if I get it from my hospital. Please what do people usually do? There is no way we can afford that for insurance every month. I have so much debt already. I would appreciate any ideas. My child is a US citizen but spouse is not if that makes any difference.

Hello. I am in similar situation. I am on J2 and I get health insurance through my wife's hospital. But it is not as expensive as yours. We pay around $200 a month which includes eye and dental. We don't any children yet

Als, if your wife is working, she can get it through her employer. But you have to get health insurance for J2, its one of the laws of ECMFG
