the most common bug to cause acute osteomyelitis in sickle cell anemia is salmonella. No answer is correct.

the most common bacteria in sickle cell anemia is still staph. aureus. Salmonella is the second most popular, I think.

staph. aureus is popular but is only considered when there is no other reasons. In this case, there is a condition that the pt. has sickle cell anemia. So the conditional pathogen should be the first choice.
