FM programs in Texas - learningg

- Almost all FM programs in Texas talk, as below

"Applicants must be eligible to obtain a permanent license to practice medicine in the state of Texas"

- my qsn is if we want to do only residency in texas and want to move to another state for Practice/career, do we still need to be eligible to obtain permanent license to practice medicine in Texas??

No, u don't.

I did 3 yrs FM in texas. Lot of my colleagues couldn't obtain permanent license probably due to more than 3 attempts in single step etc and moved to other states. TMB is not very strict about training permit for 3 yrs but strict about permanent.

However, some programs like UTSW dallas r more strict about it than other rural programs.

@goodjob....you are absolutely right. that is why i applied to 3 programs in texas a while ago. I checked with ERAS too.
