Hello everyone. I’m currently assessing my chances for becoming a doctor in US in order to start/or not to start preparing for the steps. I finished medical school in Russia in 2015 (got my dermatology certification). After that for 2 years I wasn’t working (had a fiancé in US, travelled back and forth), than in 2017 I had half a year training for dermatology (botox, fillers etc). Then I got pregnant. In 2018 my child was born and I moved to Canada. Now being in Canada and the child is 2 y.o. I started thinking about possible career of a doctor in US. Taking into consideration that preparing and passing all the steps may take about 2-3 years and how long ago I got my diploma. What are my chances to match? Will program directors cut me slack for all those years of sorting out personal life or it’s a no way situation?
