some more questions on residency... -
#1
David

Just a few questions-
1/ I plan to clear step 2 and TOEFL this summer, and then apply for residency starting in August 2004. Would it be possible to apply before doing the CSA?
2/ Do they always interview?
3/ I heard somewhere that all residency positions start in July. The only problem is I cannot possibly start until August 2004, as this is when my PRHO (British internship year) finishes. Would it therefore be possible to start in August? Are program directors flexible with this?

I would be SO, SO grateful for any replies to my queries!

David,
Why do you need TOEFL as your english is tested in CSA.Do check with ECFMG.
They always interview whether pre or postmatch.
Why are you in a hurry, get a membership from UK and you'll be miles ahead of others.
The programs start in July but if you are very keen, you can always putforth this query to the director at the time of interview.

Hi David

To be eligible to apply CSA, you have to pass TOEFL and step 1 .
It is preferable to be ECFMG certified while you are interviewed, and for some programs it is pre-request for interviews, but there some program that will interview if you have TOEFL, step 1 and 2
