Hi,
I wanted to discuss and clarify in regard to obtaining a J1 visa. After we receive the DS-2019 form from the TPL there are two ways to get the J1 visa --
a) Apply within the US --- i.e., apply for I-539 form and the wait time is approx 2 months and after that the approval form 1-797 comes in and we are ready to practice.
b) Apply outside the US --- i.e. apply for I-901 form, and apply for visa from your home country or if you are already in US on a different visa, then apply from third country nationals.
My question is --
i) If we apply from third country nation, then how easy is it to get the visa appointment dates?
ii) What is the acceptance/rejection rate from third country nation?
