The CDC says " Although infants are at higher risk for serious and fatal complications than are older children, the risk for healthy, full-term infants who develop varicella following postnatal exposure is substantially less than for infants whose mothers were infected 5 days before to 2 days after delivery. VZIG is not recommended for healthy, full-term infants who are exposed postnatally, even if their mothers have no history of varicella infection. "
