j1 status / visa different.urgent..please help. -

iam converting from h4 status to j1 status.i know this can be done in the us.my question is if u need to get ur visa stamped for h1/h4 i know u can get it done from mexico;but what about j1 visa being stamped on ur passport?could that be done from mexico too or you have to go to your home countrywhen u get it stamped for the first time.

why are you converting your h4 to j1? don't you have an EAD? becoz when you have one, i think that you dont need anymore visa. im an h4 visa holder with an EAD and on the process of applying for green card. the hospital to which i matched only sponsor j1 but that is no issue with me coz i have my EAD.
