Ya, that's good. we don't have to worry about not getting our documents back jus in case some don't match. That means they won't shred our original documents after they have scanned them.

sounds good......i think it is for sure RODS cause another announcement made on 20 august 2007 says

"ERAS Support Services at ECFMG
Return of Document Service (RODS)
(Posted August 21, 2006)
ERAS Support Services at ECFMG is introducing a new service that returns eligible documents to international medical students and graduates who apply to residency programs using ERAS. The Return of Document Service (RODS) is under development and expected to be available in February 2007. RODS will be a web-based service available through ECFMG™s OASIS, and applicants will make their requests for return of documents on-line; written requests will not be accepted. There will be a nominal fee associated with the new RODS system. Applicants will be required to make a credit card payment, via ECFMG™s OASIS. More details will be provided as they become available.

Eligible Documents
Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs)

Letters of Recommendation (LoRs), only if the applicant has NOT waived his/her right to view the letter.
Determination of Applicant Waiving Rights to View the LoR

ERAS Support Services at ECFMG will review each Request for Letter of Recommendation/Coversheet form submitted with LoRs for the applicant™s signature. Verification of the œcheck mark placed on the form by the applicant with signature is conducted to confirm whether the applicant waived his/her right to see the letter under the œFamily Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Additionally, ERAS Support Services at ECFMG will review the content of the LoR to verify whether the letter writer has attested to the applicant™s waiver of right to view the letter. If one or both of these conditions are met, ERAS Support Services at ECFMG will stamp each LoR to read:

œDear Program Director: The applicant has waived his/her right to see this letter. ERAS Support Services
ERAS Support Services at ECFMG will NOT return any LoR if the applicant has waived his/her right to view the letter.

Medical School Transcript (if supplied by the applicant as part of his/her ERAS application documents)

ERAS Support Services at ECFMG expects to fulfill requests starting the first week in March 2007 and continuing through May 31, 2007. There will be a four to six week processing time. Documents that are not requested to be returned by applicants will be shredded after May 31, 2007.

Note that RODS is an optional service. Applicants are not required to request the return of documents. Therefore, ERAS Support Services at ECFMG encourages all applicants to make copies of their ERAS application documents for recordkeeping. ERAS application documents are for the purpose of applying to residency positions for the current ERAS season. Applicants who apply to programs in the future are highly encouraged to secure up-to-date documents for each ERAS season. "
