85 2nd attempt/89 /cs both 1st attempt. 1998 graduate.
scheduled to do externship in oct for 1 month. Any chance of IM? should I apply for FM??

apply wisely to a few good and a few avg community hospitals for IM. I really myself dont believe in changing specialties. if IM is what u wanna do, you should not even think of FM. Remain positive, confident, and I believe that u stand a good chance of making it somewhere in IM. Lot depends on how interview goes. Scores are only good to get u interviews, beyond that what matters is how u present urself at the interview.

thanx for all the advice.. I really want to do only internal medicine. I dont think I'll be happy in any other field.
But will keep my options open. I'll wait to see how the response is and then apply for family medcine later..Can I do that??

go for IM,apply to specific programs and other programs where u know people.goodluck
