A 65-year-old woman is seen for evaluation of dementia. On examination,

follows your finger with her eyes, as you approach the bridge of her nose,

This is the typical Argyll
Robertson pupil found in syphilis. The RPR (rapid plasma reagin), a nontreponemal
antibody test for syphilis, will be positive.
