i guess the rate of deterioratn of symptoms is a continuous one in alzheimers as against the step wise pattern of the same in multi infarct...

also wht is mild cognitive impairment,u can't call it dementia

The difference btw them is the following
-Most times Vascular D. d/t cerebrovascular or cardiovascular prbls (e.g Stroke) -Vascular usually sudden in onset. Usually Pt gets better, but this will depend on if Pt experiences more strokes or not. -In Vascular D. Pt's maintain their personality and emottional responses until later stages of the Disease |
