hi swanlee the question here is does the program even offer prematches to begin with. Have they given others prematches this year? If they do then her inviting you for a second look could just be her way of being nice. If they dont offer prematches then maybe second look is a good positive thing and that she will rank you high for the match. Also when you told PD that you were interested in the program, at that time did you ask for a second look or did she offer? thanks

Many programs invite the applicants for a second look just to be polite. One of my friends went for a second look at a program in San diego but nothing came out of it and he did not even match into the program. So i guess we hve to take it with a pinch of salt and hope for the best.

That's why second looks are meaningless.

Almost all programs encourage applicants to come back for a second look (unless of course you are an absolutely horrible candidate in their estimation)

So theoretically, they can accept as many people for second look as they can comfortably fit into their schedule.

ask PD on your second look that how do they rank candidates and whats their screening process ..... and ask chief.. how many 2nd look they have.....
