hi.. i m currently doin the USMLE WORLD reveiw of step 1. I came across an explaination which mentioned that in an event of MI there is cessation of aerobic respiration and decrease in high energy phosphate (ATP). And in about a period of 30mins there irreversible injury and the ATP levels have fallen to 15% of normal. Thus implicating that ATP is still decreasing and so the likely answer would be degradation of membrane phospholipids.
