Categorical vs Preliminary???? Urgent! - dralex
#1
What is the difference between Categorical and Transitional tracks? And do we need to apply for the (lets say) neurology PGY 2 next year or we should have applyed to it already this year?

One of the programs has 3 residency tracks: categorical, preliminary and transitional. I've only applyed to Categorical. But i was thinking if I'd apply to two other programs as well - would it make any sence if I did not apply for any other PGY2 programs this year.

Please help, it is VERY urgent!

Thank you all.

if you want to apply to all 3 position then you can apply to all 3 but you have rank them as 3 different programs and i think prelim and transitional are more competitive than categorical. but if you want to apply you can rank them as 3 whole different programs.
