Firstly it is an AR disease...In the q we have been provided with carrier rate i.e 2q ,so value of q will be 24.As we are asked to calculate prevalance which is qsquare so the answer will be ccc

i think 2pq is equal to 1/12
as p is assumed as 1
2q=1/12
ieq=24
and qsquared which is prevalence of the disease is one in 576

carrier rate is 1/12....
so probability of both parents being a carrier = 1/12 x 1/12 = 1/144
chances that their child will be S C D is 1/4....
so 1/144 x 1/4 = 1/576
