Thank you very much gracie. I will try to stick to my plan now because I have already postponed it once. I am thinking I will apply now for the eligibility so that I will be motivated to study.

Do you know how much time you need to study for step 2. I was thinking if I take step 1 in dec 2007 and step 2 in july 2008 I will be able to apply for residency for 2009 because I will be done with my PhD by then. To keep my visa status I have to finsih join residency or post doc by 2009. Will six months be enough for step 2. I have heard that its step 1 which takes longer. Being a old graduate I feel little less confident with my studies.
