webers and rinnes - step1gurl

how will u know if the problem is a sensoryneural or a conduction problem with thru ur weber and rinnes tests

With the weber, there is a laterization to the normal ear(recall that in sensorineural the problem is with CN8). Rinnes will be normal to the patient though objectively, the sound is decreased.
In Conduction deafness, Rinnes is abnormal because the patient will report higher bone conduction(air conduction should be greater). Weber lateralizes to the affected(bad) ear.
