world map is shown. The number of patients with a certain disease is marked in different countries and different states in US. Most patients were in CA and TX. What is the cause?

only thing that comes to mind is when they discuss the systemic mycoses by region.. in the above areas (Tx + California) i would go with Coccidiodmycosis

U r right. But USMLE does not ask the bug. I do not remember all the choices. they asked epidemiology. Due to Immigration flow? Due to food import? and so on.

Its due to immigration flow. Mexicans can just walk into US thru Texas and CA. But do you really think such questions are tested on USMLE?

i got one of thesse too. had no clue what it meant, marked hiv nevertheless, for no reason really.

i also think of this is about coccidioides immitis. the most common fungal infection in the south and southwest and desert areas of the united state. it is in FA.
