only thing that comes to mind is when they discuss the systemic mycoses by region.. in the above areas (Tx + California) i would go with Coccidiodmycosis

U r right. But USMLE does not ask the bug. I do not remember all the choices. they asked epidemiology. Due to Immigration flow? Due to food import? and so on.

Its due to immigration flow. Mexicans can just walk into US thru Texas and CA. But do you really think such questions are tested on USMLE?

i also think of this is about coccidioides immitis. the most common fungal infection in the south and southwest and desert areas of the united state. it is in FA.
