newmexico....well, I liked your comment, it made me glad! but I was wondering about my step1 score won't help me to get into a university hospital, am I right??
With this credential how many programs should I apply?? someone said 200, is it true?? babak, I graduated 2005 thank you both!

this is a comment from a faculty in a tertiary hosp/univ hosp. he said they get at least 2000 applications a year, and give about 200 ivs. they only have 12 positions for PGY-1. the number of positions may vary, anywhere from 6-30, depending on which unive hosp, but the applicants remain the same.
and if they dont personally know u, they just base giving ivs according to ur application. so this means even if they put a cut-off score of 80 for step 1 and step 2, and there are tons of applicants w/ score in the 90s, who would u think they would give an iv to? hope it makes sense.. |
