a 23 yr old female had abdominal pain n bloody diarrhoa....on stool exam comma shaped organisms were found..she was stared on erythromycin...2 wks after rx she developed tinglind n numbeness on fingers n toes....this paralysis then symetrically over arms n legs....wat is the patholgy associated with this condition?
a. inflamn n demylination of cns
b.inflmn n demylintion of peripheral nerves
c.inflamn bt no demylination of peripheral nerves.
d.demylination bt no inflamn of peripheral nerves
e.inflamn bt no demylination of cns

answer is inflamn n demylination of peripheral nerves....pt has campylobacter jejuni dysentry..thn she developed guillan barr...remember GBS is associated with post c jejuni..post inflenza n post rabies vaccination...
