I heard that research is very important for some specialties such as neuro and patho. But is it important for primary care such as IM and FM? I have an advance degree in biological area and some publications. Will it help me get into IM or FM?

research is not looked upon favourably unless it is 1-2 yr duration with lots of publications

US wants good workers and not reseachers among its interns.
