do you mean a vasectomy?

I believe sperm count is measured in an ejaculate. (They measure absolute count and % motility.) In a vasectomy, the ejaculate will basically have zero sperm in it. So, I would say yes, there is a reduction in sperm count.

but there are other causes of "sterilization" I think... radiation, some infections, etc. Each has a different pathogenesis.

to mimi1234,
after vasectomy sperm counts redused gradualy ( few sperms tsored in passage) it takes about 100 days or 30 ejaculations (whichever later) for sperm counts to become ZERO.
