Thyroid - mitralstenosis

A younge female patient has non tender firm thyroid, T3 T4 increased, RAIU uptake low, ESR normal, there is also antithyroid antibodies but they are in low titer. What could be diagnosis of this patient?

one thing is hypertiroidism and another is tyroiditis
In Hashimote we are suppose to see Ac antituyroperoxidasa presents and antityroglobulines

Think of silent or painless or postpartum thyroiditis? Can it be correct?

hmmmmmmm - I thought Hashimoto's was HYPOthyroidism wiht LOW t4 & T3 and High TSH.

not all hyperthyroid has high RAIU...thyroiditis has increase T3 T4 with low RAIU, but graves incre RAIU and T3T4

Hashimoto's b/c in the beginning there is brief hyperthyroidism f/b hypothyroidism.

This is lymphocytic thyroiditis
You can read it in the Kaplan book page 41 ( internal medicine)
The etiology is unclear.This disease may last 2-5 months and recurrent. Treatment is symptomatic with propranolol.
