Don't listen to people here and risk your career. It is against the law to let PD know about this. I know one of my friends last year emailed the PD to inform him of his new observership and PD called 911. He was arrested, put in jail for a month and then deported.

I don't think so. May be your friend emailed PD and treadthened something. So PD called 911. I don't think any PD will call 911 for your changing something from your application.
