are cauda equina syndrome n spinal cord compression same?????????// do they present the same way??????

cauda equina syndrome occurs as a result of compression of lumbosacral nerve roots . Usual presentation is with urinary retention or overflow incontinence. other imp findings include saddle anesthesia around the anus or perineum and decreased tone of anal sphincter

saddle block can be provided via caudal epidural which provides "saddle block" and is useful during the 2nd stage of labor which requires blocking pain originating from s2-s4 ex.via pudendal nerve
