Hey any body with any info on this guys please ......would be great to know what to do after J1 approval ??do u need to go out of the country is what i have read in the posts here ...so would i need to take an apointment with ,say the US embassy in canada and get my J1 stamped or i can get it stamped it at the port of entry ...thanks for the info

well staying in USA or out of USA you need statement of need for applying for J1. Now if you staying in USA then you applly for a change of status, and if approved you status is changed to J1 from any other status and they will provide you new I-94 and status change letter. It is legal to stay in US on that. But it is not your visa to get into country back after leaving it. And you get visa out of USA only.
