clopidogrel - wuxlin
#1
guys, I am new. Say hello to everybody !

The following sentence is taken from kplan note:

clopidogrel is added to asprin after angioplasty and in those with "non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction?

My question:
why is only for "non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction" instead of general MI?

Thanks for your nice reply

to researcher76:

I think you are right. STSE starts with thrombolysis. non-ST elevation MI is managed with medication.

I am not sure also.

Yes it is used as prophylaxis .There is 20% reduction in the incidence of MI,Stroke and other things as it is an antiplatelet agent and it doesn not cause agranulocytosis,it can aslo be used in Aspirin -intolerant patients(Blessing of CMDT!)
