a diabetic on tablets, BMI 17, urea 21, createnin 190, HCO3- 14, cause of this finding?

metformin can induce lactic acidosis ,also bicar is 14 so suggests met acidosis

one clinching pt is BMI 17 SO MAY BE NOT metformin....

renal tubular azotemia i think high creatinin so rta, not sure though

Here BUN/CR ratio is >20;1 so may be prerenal ARF may be gastroparesis ....
cannot comment upon RTA without urine ph and serum k levels |
