well...better options or not.....its a sure start.
just do a google search on the area you live in "CNA courses" call up the places and they will let you know how they work.

make sure they are a state licensed school and they administer the state exam (national certification). there are tons of CNA jobs that can lead to getting in the hospital, meeting people, transfering once you are in, and of course benefits.

the same applies for either EKG...do a search on EKG certification schools in your area and make sure they are state approved. this can also lead you to becoming an instructor.

once you are certifed in any of these things, you can submit your credentials and try to get a job as an instructor as well...teaching EKG or phlebotomy.

i think its professionally appropriate not to pass judgement on any type of job, regardless of the education level it requires.

the way to become a nurse is (1) first get CNA certification (2) get LPN licence which is a 12 month program. after that you (3) do a BSN which is an additional yearl

i dont know anyone in this country working as a nurse who hasnt graduated from an accredited nursing program. you cant get a job like that. do your research

You don't even need to take any courses for the EKG, phlebotomy etc. You just have to take the exam. They give you credits based on your medical degree. The exams are not expensive. The fee is $105. It might have increased since I inquired some 4 years ago. I would have given the address if I had not lost it. The board is called National health careers association. The address in NJ is: 134, Evergreen Place, 9th floor
East Orange, NJ-07018.
Telephone no. is 973-678-7305.
It was 4 years ago. So please, check in case it has changed. The courses canbe anywhere ranging from a few hundred to few thousnad dollars. So don't waste your time and money on those. For nursing you will have to take courses.

I had spoken to Diane Riffel on the phone and she had mailed a free application for the exam. I never got around to take the test. But it is as simple as abc. I taught ekg at a school for medical technicians and I saw some exam questions, just glimpses here and there, but students used to tell questions. Very easy, straight-forward questions. You just need to read for a day or two or even less to get through. Phlebotomy is something you might have to study for a week. But again the test is very easy.
