1 step. do and in and out foley cat

can any one tell how do we go from here?

next step do we do USg to find out any b/l uretreal obstn?

or give a fluid challenge?

post op uriary retention.no urine passed but bladder distended.we can do in and out catheterization
once or twice.more than that a foleys has to be placed

1step. foleys to check retention., with distended abdomen.

2step. inspite of foleys if still no UO. then fluid challenge to see if UO improves.
if still no UO suspect operative injury to ureter/ hypovolemic ATN.

what IX do u do for finding out ureteral injury? is it USG, thats what they have mentioned in UW.

IVP is done to check for post op suspected ureteric injury.
however retrograde pyelogram is most reliable.
USS is not effective in detecting injury accurately.correct me if wrong!!!!
