cushings Disease is due to excess of gluco corticoids caused by pituitary dysfunction like pituitary adenoma.
c. syndrome is due to excess of gluco corticoids caused by adrenal dysfunction. if ur confused on remembering which one is which, there is a clue ------- d comes first compared to s in alphabetical order or u can say d is up ( pituitaryis up in the head ) and s is way down (adrenal down in abdomen) hope it helps

in disease inc ACTH leads to inc cortisol,
in synd , increase cortisol leads to feedback inhibition of ACTH and consequent reduced ACTH Level of ACTH differentiates between Diseae and syndr
