management of Osteomylitis - pinkypossible

1. obtain X rays and blood cultre
2.start IV Antibiotics
3.If X ray negative 3 phase technetium scan(MRI for foot and spine)
4. If Blood cultre negative needle bone biopsy

Is this correct......thanks

first xray -will not show periosteal elevation
xray positive -biopsy to know the organism , start treatment b4 culture results -treatment for 6 wks

xray negative --MRI AND BONE SCAN FOLLOWED BY BIOPSY
MRI , BONE SCAN NGATIVE --ITS NOT OSTEOMYELITIS

thanks jilu and drknmer.....so that means....we will do biopsy in ANY one of these three cases

1.if Xray positive
2.if blood culture neagtive
3. if MRI/bone scan positive.
